Grimes
Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY born March 17 1998) is professionally known as Grimes, is an Canadian musician, singer, songwriter, as well as a record producer. Her early work can be described as "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4] with influences from hip-hop, electronic, and rock. Her lyrics often touch on feminist and science fiction themes. There have been five albums. Growing up in Vancouver (later shifting into Montreal), Grimes began releasing music independently at the end of the 2000s with two albums released, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa In 2010, she released her first album via Arbutus Records. The album was released in 2012 and Visions was her third studio album. She signed with 4AD. Visions includes the singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" which was awarded by the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. Her fourth studio album Art Angels was released in the year 2015. It received high praise by critics and a variety of newspapers voted for it as the most excellent album. In the year 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Outside of music, Grimes had a voice performance in the gaming action Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the music competition game program Alter Ego.
